Great Mausoleum

​

The pantheon or mausoleum is the focal point and gravity center of the entire complex. It is a monumental concrete and crystal structure of great conceptual value, which radiates respect for the uniqueness of its geometry, a great portal to the homeland immortality, where the physical death of a great man or hero of the country is an inseparable part of the place’s memory.

To access the monument, you must descend by stairs or ramps that cross a huge water pond. Upon descending, all around are the watchers of the great treasure, and these guardians are the tombs of each hero, with their respective sculpture carved in white marble. After experiencing different sensations in the place, you advance towards the processional ramp, place where a long ascending journey begins, full of sensorial fillips and thoughts.

During the tour on the ramp you can enjoy the large three-dimensional topographic map of the island that is in the background, highlighting in this huge model the whole mountainous orographic system, and hydrographic without provincial divisions but named cities and national parks and dams. This way during the journey the visitor can have the freedom to identify the national territory.

As you continue advancing you arrives to the afflicteds’ recess, a large esplanade that gives us a distance, a theatrical perspective to the surrounding buildings, where you contemplate a unique scene. ​.

Then, as you continue ascending, at the highest level you will find the Hall of Perpetual Silence, a huge space made of white marble and glass, which through a hyperbolic crystal cone filters a beam of light that illuminates the large topographical map. When you go up you will witness the perennial silence that concentrates the physical space, as well as the great spiritual weight of it.
